Hello, i have a 1 year old daughter and i started to really worry about her oral development. The reason for this is that she usually sleeps with her tongue resting a little bit out between her teeth, sometimes sucking on the tip of her tongue. There must be something wrong? I still breastfeed her sometimes and give liquids from a bottle. She eats solids pretty good as well. Can someone please advise on that?

Perhaps continue to exclusively breastfeed? Liquids fom a bottle can create improper swallowing patterns.

Maybe consult a local myofunctional therapist? They focus on correcting your oral habits and may be of help.

@sheeesh Hello, ive quit using bottle but i do breastfeed, as far as i know breastfeeding is good for oral development? Unfortunately we dont have myofunctional therapist around, but i found out Melanie Potocks instagram who claims that straw drinking may help a toddler to adopt mature swallowing pattern. The straw should be very short for the end of it to be placed at the tip of a tongue. Do you think it mat help?

@angelina Breastfeeding is supposed to be good for oral development. I've heard that straws are bad however as the baby would need to suck to swallow rather than pushing with their tongue; I don't think that would help.

  • @james-sapphire haven't you just said that you are an incel? And then you say you turned out all right. Maybe if your parents cared about your early development you would've turned out to be handsome man so now you didnt ask questions ĺike these

This forum seemed a bit too professional to become an incel forum. However it was inevitable considering the lack of activity in the mewing community. It seems like most mewers have given up the cope and accepted the Craniofacial structure cant change in an adult through mewing. I personally do believe the environment plays a role in face structure. But most is decided in the womb through the mothers diet during pregnancy. Then as a toddler, nutrition is still very important aswell as mewing. However if a child is 8 years old and has been mouth breathing with lack of nutrition, then the childs facial structure has already been damaged beyond repair and they will look unattractive when an adult. Genetics also play a very big role too.
