Removing a decayed wisdom tooth - effect on jaw?

I'm in my mid 30s and have had no extractions so far. My upper left wisdom tooth has fully grown, albeit at something like a 30 degree angle pointing outwards (perhaps this is a sign of narrow palate?)

Unfortunately i've had some decay in that tooth. My dentist recommends me to either extract it, or go to a specialist for a check up and potential root canal.

Obviously i'd prefer to save it, but a root canal is quite expensive, and may not fully work.

My question is this - if i did extract the wisdom tooth, could i expect to see jaw shape changes/asymmetry in my face?

I think if it was unlikely to impact my face i'd be more comfortable going with the extraction.

Thanks for any help in advance!

So far I've only had one extracted and that was when I was 27 due to rot beyond repair. I asked the dentist about asymmetry and he said it wouldn't happen and so far that has been accurate (since March 2021). I'll just warn you that seeing the hole afterwards is pretty horrifying haha.

I guess i'm in a similar situation! Was yours the upper or lower wisdom?

Also how was the healing process? You mentioned a hole, has that closed up by now, does it feel odd? I wonder if theres an option to replace with an implant?
