I am new here. This is all new to me.

Proper swallowing, tongue at the roof of the mouth, chewing, fixing posture.

Is this it?

Should I use a device? Why?

I think I am significantly less attractive than what I could've been and I have noticed my jaw definition losing. My family history is not bright either. My sister has breathing problems with I think more downswing than me. I have pretty bad posture that I've been working on for the past month.

I'd like to make sure I'm not declining. And perhaps make progress. I don't want to browse this forum ad infinitum, or watch endless videos. I just want to be given what works and do it. TBH I don't think anyone can help me as significantly as the Mews themselves.

I am a 22 year old male.

Proper swallow, teeth + lips together at rest, tongue on the roof of the mouth, open mouth chewing with hard gum + exercise tongue, McKenzie tuck and you could also try facepulling with your thumbs or a belt. That's pretty much what I do

Have you feel change doing thumb facepulling? And how exactly and for how long?

Yep, it's accelerated my results substantially. Every hour to 1.5 hour or so I push outwards and forward on the inner side of my teeth, then gums. then palate for about 2 minutes at a time with a very firm force. I feel/hear sutures pop when I do this.

Really effective for raising Inter molar width imo

What type of results have you seen with this facepulling ?

so far i've gained 2mm of IMW in the past 2 weeks. a tiny amount of it may be due to slight tipping. it has made tongue posture substantially easier

@krollic

Why the "open" mouth chewing? Is it to stop the buccinator muscles?

Also what do you use to measure inter molar width? And what other measurements are available? Do you have pictures? I know it might feel intrusive but I'm quite serious about this and would quite help.

I haven't slept properly last night because of trying to maintain tongue posture. I know it's gonna take a couple of weeks or perhaps months of bad sleep but I'm after the big gains and also I have snoring issue when sleeping on my back only and it would help significantly I think.

Also, what do you think about placing the thumb on the chin and pushing upwards and forward with the hand while sleeping on the side? It puts pressure on the teeth, clenching them, should this be avoided? I can maintain only contact by using jaw muscle and resist the pressing. It's gonna take a long time to establish this but what do you think?
