The Whole Body Breathing LightWire device is an ALF inspired design for providing a stabilizing and calming bio-feedback to the body by producing a gentle contact along the gumline.

Proposed Problem:
The majority of modern humans have undergrown or misaligned jaws which can make the correct positioning of the tongue along the gumline (including behind the molars) difficult to establish and maintain, especially when unconscious. When the body is expecting a certain signalling but not recieving it, this can be stressful for the system and lead to overwhelm. It will also make it difficult for the body to hold corrective adjustments, as an overwhelmed system will revert back to compensation or move to new compensation. This makes long term relief or even long-term improvement more difficult when using Whole Body Breathing, Osteopathy, Craniosacral therapy, Chiropractic, Physio etc

Proposed Relief:
By providing a removable gentle contact wire along the gumline, users will get first-hand experience of the calming effect on the body and nervous system when effortless contact is maintained along the entire upper gumline. As the device is designed for easy wearing and removal, users are encouraged to use/train their own posturing as much as possible and re-create the feeling that the device helps generate. And yet, understanding the typical limits of human effort and ability, the device will serve as a gentle back-up during sleep, work, or in general times where the user feels that they cannot consciously hold the tongue position. If the user has undergone a Whole Body Breathing/Osteopathy/Craniosacral/Chiropractic/Physio or other type of bodywork or inner work session, the appliance is intended to help them keep the gains from the session and compound their gains over time by helping their system stay relaxed in a new state.
