Whole Body Breathing

Whole Body Breathing is an advanced method of breath awareness which unlocks your proprioception of the pressurized fascial tensegrity system which makes up your body. This is a psychosomatic experience, as the body and mind are not separate, and the tension patterns in the body are reflections of Egoic tension and trauma known as Saṃkoca (संकोच).

The 22 bones of the skull and face come together like a 3D puzzle; The connective tissue(fascia)/muscle connections hold and move their positions. Repeated movements and force influence their growth. With Whole Body Breathing, you will use the breathing to influence the connective tissue and bone to:

  • Adjust Cranial Bones
  • Open the Nasal and Throat Airway
  • Improve TMJ Function
  • Adjust the Bite
  • Improve Facial Appearance
  • Alleviate Headaches
  • Improve CSF Flow

“[…] my attention was called to the beveled articular surfaces of the sphenoid bone. […] ‘Beveled, like the gills of a fish, indicating articular mobility for a respiratory mechanism’ – William Sutherland

The connective tissue/fascia of the whole body is connected. Tension runs through the whole system, head to toe – some of it good, some of it bad. Improper tensioning leads to issues that show up in the skull, ribcage, pelvis, spine, and joints. With Whole Body Breathing, you will influence the tensioning to:

  • Correct posture and improve function, correcting and preventing injuries
  • Decompress the joints and spine, alleviating pain
  • Correct tightness in the body, and enhance your connection to the body
  • Improve your voice by removing tension
  • Resolve pelvic floor and sexual issues
  • Make progress in fibromyalgia and neuropathy healing
  • Improve Lymphatic and Hormone function

Every man, woman and child holds the possibility of physical perfection; it rests with each of us to attain it by personal understanding and effort.” – FM Alexander

The tightness in the body and head are often related to emotions, traumas, and self-constrictions held in the subconscious. By feeling and processing these traumas, the physical and mental correction go hand-in-hand. You will unwind your body and mind at once. Use Whole Body Breathing to:

  • Resolve anxiety, depression, and anger issues
  • Identify and release the subconscious triggers driving your behavior and choices
  • Re-pattern the personality and behaviours to be what you consciously choose
  • Decrease the mental noise and affect of the internal monologue
  • Increase your capacity to deal with changes and stressors
  • Improve your relationships with higher emotional + social intelligence
  •  Increase your self confidence and willingness to live life with full engagement

“Millions of people never analyze themselves. […] They don’t know what or why they are seeking, nor why they never realize complete happiness and lasting satisfaction. […] True self-analysis is the greatest art of progress.” – Yogananda

Watching the breath has always been the doorway to the subconscious and to deeper levels of perception. Ancient traditions developed as dedicated seekers turned their attention inwards and began to notice the subtle. Whole Body Breathing confirms, builds on, compliments and enhances:

  • Your own practice
  • Yogic and Vedic Systems
  • Qi Gong, Tai Chi, Reiki and Meridian Systems
  • Craniosacral, Osteopathic and bioenergetic deep work
  • Deep levels of meditation and consciousness exploration
  • Deep experiences of as-with-so-without for LOA and synchronicity
  • Developing an openness and intuition for correct information and guidance

You need some faith to walk the spiritual path, but not belief. Faith arises out of a deep inner experience. There is no calculation involved here, no agendas, no indoctrination, no guarantees. – Sadhguru

How is this different from other breathing practices and exercises?

Whole Body Breathing is, in fact, not a practice or exercise. Humans are meant to have a proper breathing+posture pattern that extends through the entire body. We are getting you back to healthy breathing.

I am considering other physical treatments like expanders and devices. Is this for me?

In all cases, one requires proper  expansion and form throughout the body and breathing: You may begin Whole Body Breathing immediately and use it to either replace or greatly enhance other treatments.

I working with another method or practitioner, is this compatible?

Whole Body Breathing will compliment and enhance the results from other methods. Through Whole Body Breathing, you will likely gain a deeper understanding of other physical and mental methods – even considering them a subset of our comprehensive and holistic theory.
