Emotional/Energetic Practice

Deeper PsychoSomatics

The next chapter of your training will establish the deep psychosomatic understanding of Whole Body Breathing. Changing your physical and mental patterns is essentially changing who you are – we need to dive in deeply enough for you to unlearn your mental and physical patterns, returning to the state of flexibility and moldability of a child so that your bodymind can re-initiate the proper growth processes and re-align your body to its correct form with every inhale.

Yoga Nidra

There is a powerful yogic practice known as “Yoga Nidra”, and this WBB variation of it is designed specifically to re-ignite higher and higher levels of feeling and proprioception in your body. It is appropriate for all levels of understanding and awareness. It is highly recommended that you specifically set aside a time and calm place for your first attempt. If anything, this practice is the core ongoing practice of Whole Body Breathing: Deep awareness, deep listening. Take what you learn in this video to your daily life - perhaps initially practicing it before bed and after waking up. Then try to take it into your day to day life: Sitting, standing, laying, and walking in deep awareness.

Guided Breathing

The philosophy of Whole Body Breathing is to practice breath awareness, not breath control. However, in order to more quickly open up awareness and incite / catalyse the blockages in the body, the following guided session can be used. This is also an exercise in intermittent hypoxia, making your body breath with greater effect and efficiency. Do not practice this guided session if you are in any way sick (especially with cardiac/respiratory issues) or pregnant. Always perform the meditation laying down or in a position that you can easily lay down safely if needed. If you become dizzy or very uneasy, stop.

The Deep Reaction

Many different methods over the years have gotten temporary adjustments in peoples structure, but these micro adjustments take years to build up into serious structural change and often hit an upper limit from which they keep relapsing. Why is this? In WBB theory, we’re holding patterns are various levels, some of them deeper than others. Some traumas or reactions may be new while others go far back into our evolutionary chain and are going haywire in modern situations.

Breathing out Longer for better releasing / state

It’s time to start shifting our attention towards the other half of the the respiration process - the exhale. Deepening your connection with the exhale will reveal new physical patterns of constriction and help your to further release those found in modules 1 and 2. It will also put you into parasympathetic states, deeper awareness from which you can better notice and release subtle sensation and gain the subtlety of perception to better handle esoteric work. Incorporate this into your daily practice, your constant yoga nidra. Also refer to the guided breath-with-music video from Module 1.

Revisiting the deep reactions

Deeper levels of stillness expose subtler and subtler sensations. It’s this subtle tensioning which we must become aware of and release for long term and large scale improvement. Talking interferes with breathing as you must necessarily be in a controlled exhale while talking. The is a very tight link between thought and speaking, to the point where someone can articulate even before having the thought be concrete in the mind - or, in many cases, speak without thinking. For good or bad. This means that subvocalization - to think something and have the tongue begin subtly twitching it or move into speaking postures - could be a very big limit on freeing of the jaw and skull diaphragms, and in causing tension through the body. Subvocalization could be like having a car out of gear but the flywheel still vibrates when the engine is on (content idea). When you exhale consciously you are inhibiting the subvocalization process. Eye movements are also linked deeply with neck muscle movement, and eye movement is also linked to thinking. Combined subvocalization, eye movement, ear vibration, inner vibration translate deep into the internal and external structure of the skull. The nervous system will be directly influenced to sympathetic or parasympathetic as the neck/skull holds nerves such as the Vegas, have a direct link into the myodural bridge and tentorium, and the constant tensioning of this area will directly interfere with the exhale - an exhale which is needed to trigger parasympathetic states

You may be able to see in the interlinked, convoluted description above why the WBB theory is so interlinked. Where to start explaining? Everything links into everything, every new piece of knowledge fit a piece of the puzzle and unlocks 3 more. To work out a billion piece 3D jigsaw puzzle requires a deeper level of intelligence to be tapped into.

A session in transitioning towards feelings of energy

The experience of our physical sensations and the experience of energetic sensation don’t have a clear demarkation line. You will have to determine for yourself what you are really feeling - and feel free to remain grounded entirely in the physical sensations until or unless it feels that it best serves your practice to begin thinking in terms of the nonphysical of what is happening in the body.
