Hello everyone,
I am from Asia. I had four premolars extracted when I was 15. I am 23 years old and I took off my retainer two years ago. Since then, I feel that my unilateral nasal congestion is getting worse, TMD problems, cervical spine problems, and mandibular deviation have also worsened.
What I want to solve most is my breathing problem. I have seen many doctors, including orthodontists, jaw doctors, and otolaryngologists.
The orthodontist observed my pharyngeal airway through cbct, and the test report showed that my pharyngeal airway is not narrow, about 150 square millimeters, so my breathing problem may not be caused by the pharyngeal airway.
The otolaryngologist first found through an endoscope that I had almost no rhinitis, so the rhinitis problem was ruled out, and then observed my nasal cavity cbct and said that my right nasal cavity was smaller than the left, but this should not be the cause of the problem. He said that I shouldn't feel particularly serious. I doubt this, I do have difficulty breathing on the right side every day, and he said that if you really want to solve it, you need to have a nose surgery, and I am afraid of surgery.
I have been trying to solve my unilateral nasal congestion problem. I guess my breathing problem is caused by the difference between the left and right nasal cavities.
Does anyone have any solution? Is there anyone like me? Is there a discussion group for similar problems? Can we discuss how to solve it? My initial idea is to expand the right upper palate to expand the nasal cavity through unilateral MSE (or MSE with different forces on both sides), but I can't find such a doctor. I really feel uncomfortable, so I bother and ask for help from you. Thank you for reading this, sincerely.
Best wishes
