An image of this Boxer below shows an insane side profile view. As he is a boxer, I see in most of his fights he is mouth breathing.

Ops on his development?

Because this is the most insane side profile view I have ever. His cheekbones are so robust, making his cheeks extremely hollow.

What are your opinions?

Not bad considering he has bimaxillary protrusion

Don't confuse a small mandible (which he has) with bimax. Google pics of him with his mouth open and you will see no unnatural incisor proclination whatsoever.

Some people just have a small mandible naturally. I assume he is of West African descent by his name. West Africans have naturally small mandibles that even with perfect teeth alignment will cause the upper lip to protrude. This is just part of the phenotypical variation seen in humans.

The opposite is seen in say, Northern European females. Their mandibles are larger (along with a longer ramus) giving the impression that they have better jaw development.

Examples:

Notice how the African male has a smaller pogonion than the Asian and European. Also notice how the opposite happens in the European female.

Boxers bite down on their mouth guards. That's why.

Since knowing about the effects of posture and habits on the face I have done quite a bit of observations as well.

What I have observed quite often is that people with well developed faces contrary to the popular belief actually mouth breath. However, people with poor spinal posture often seem to be the ones suffering from poor facial features regardless of their breathing habit.

Incorrect posture and incorrect breathing habits can pretty much initiate one another, however I believe it is only when incorrect breathing habits cause a rounded back that mouth breathing becomes detrimental to our facial appearance. As a matter of fact I've even come across many male AND female models who seem to be pathological mouth breathers. However, I very rarely, if at all find any with poor spinal posture.

Do you think that chewing on a mouth guard would be a good alternative to gum?
