(sorry i posted this in the wrong category at first)
5 years ago i had a perfectly forward grown face. (age 15).
But at this time i started laying in bed while at my laptop, i would lay with my neck and up to the wall in an allmost 90 degree angle while my back and the rest of my body would rest straight at the bed. At the time i didn't have a clue it would effect my facial growth, neither did my parents.
After that and up untill now my mandible and maxilla has elongated/roatated/receeded, and i only noticed recently when it started affecting the general asthethic of my face. (I've also gotten TMJ)
Now im 17 years old (i'll be 18 in 3 months) and as i've mentioned my face is receeding at an alarming rate. Im clueless what to do, i mew as much as i can and chin tuck allmost constantly while at home, but im scared the danmage i've done to my spine wont even be abled to be fixed before i look like a complete ugly potato.
I'll be meeting with a physiotherapist in a couple of days. I'll try to tell him everything, maybe this will be all new for him, since it seems like the only person knowing anything about facial growth is being shut down by the entire medical community.
Attatched is a picture of what i think my spine looks like (possibly a little exagerated), but what im trying to showcase is the huge "bump" at the bottom of my neck, and my horrible posture. In the picture you can also see a "before and after" outlining of my facial growth, the "now version" shuld've maybe been a little bigger"
Right now im open for anything to fix the asthethic and function of my face. I've definetly considered maxillofacial surgery (yea i know its kind of a "no no" on this forum, and i fully understand why.)

In this video (if i've interpeted it correctly) Mike talks about the dangers of relapse and how surgery might not be the best option.
But he also mentions that surgeons are getting better at moving the maxilla up and forward in the face, and that surgery might be a valid options if it supports the phremises of orthropics (not completly sure, it was kind of hard to understand).
Maybe if i mew for the next 7-8 years my face will have gotten a tiny bit better looking, but if i can get double the effect by getting surgery (with a tiny chance of relapse), that might just be a better option for me. Ill pay to get the best possible surgeon, ill step up my nutrion, ill do anything to get the best possible outcome. Unmentioned, i also have a slight overbite but i dont know how i feel about telling this to a dentist knowing i will probably get braces, (and maybe get an even more messed up face)
Anyways as i was saying, my back/neck is completely broken and my facial growth is looking elongated and horrible. In my current life situation, this has absolutley taken its toll on me knowing how easily it could've been avoided, but im slowly starting to accept it keeping in mind that there are solutions. I am all tough completely clueless what to do, who to adress, who to trust and generally how to deal with this.
If you have any tips for me on how to fix my face/spine, who to adress with these issues, or generally any input regarding the topic of surgery or facial growth, please share them with me. I am desperate. Also, i live in Norway so if there are any scandinavians here please give me a heads up. 🙂
the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. the second best time is now
Don't sweat it dude. I'm 18, almost 19, in these two months I saw extreme changes to my face. I've been a dirty mouth-breather and my maxilla was pretty far recessed, the results are honestly amazing. The front of your face won't really look much different in the beginning, but you'll notice great width changes. Your width/height ratio will improve, IWM will increase. I'm also slowly noticing maxilla rotation, lower chin is starting to protrude more and more.
Just do proper posture, chin-tucked mewing and open mouth chewing. Don't over-do the chewing though, a few hours a day maximum, a few minutes a day in the beginning. The chin-tuck is the most important of them all, the better the chin-tuck the faster the results.
Supplement Vit D, K2 MK4, Boron, Magnesium, Zinc. Eat enough Vit K(Spuinach/Brocolli) and you'll be fine. I believe at 18 changes are very fast, I went from IMW of 36-37mm to around 42mm in 2 months.
Also don't over-use your tongue muscle, it's not really that strong, use the chin-tuck and push your chin into your chest to generate power in the tongue pushing upwards and forwards.
