Female, 19 years old
Started mewing 1.5 years ago.
Growing up, my teeth were always straight, but at the age of 13 I first noticed some problems. As I started to lose my baby front teeth (central incisors)
one of my adult lateral incisors started to grow behind the nearby central incisor, and is still crooked. At the age of 18, after a visit at the dentist and after doing an X-ray scan, I discovered that 2 of my back molars (my second premolar, actually)
hadn't fallen out yet.The orthodontist at the time suggested I undertake a surgery in order to remove both baby 2nd premolars, but this scared me,
so I started researching on my own and I discovered one of Dr. Mike Mew's video and started mewing. After a couple of months one of the premolars
fell out and was replaced by a healthy adult tooth which grew into the perfect position. Unfortunately, the other baby premolar hasn't fallen out,
and caused the adult premolar to grow sideways, into my palate. I can feel the adult tooth on the top of the mouth but it doesn't hurt, and lately
I can start to see the tip of the adult premolar about 5 millimetres above the highest visible part of the baby premolar. My baby tooth doesn't hurt,
but doesn't seem to want to move either. I will attach my X-ray, prior to the baby premolar falling out and being replaced by the adult premolar. The X-ray will show my other adult second
premolar sideways, going into my palate, and my crooked front teeth. I will also attach photos of my current teeth.
My question is, how can I fix my front crooked teeth and the sideways premolar? Since I have been mewing to the best of my ability for 1.5 years
without too substantial of a change, should I instead consider a palate expander or something along those lines? Thanks everyone!

Have you had any consultations with an orthodontist?

My advice would be to work with someone who offers a palate expander such as the DNA appliance or Homeoblock first. Once your palate has expanded, the teeth will likely move into position naturally. Then you could finish off with some type of orthodontic treatment to rotate any teeth that you were not yet happy with. Alternatively, you may be able to fix your case with Damon braces, provided the orthodontist does not prescribe you to have any teeth removed. In any event, I would continue to mew because of the health benefits, and you still likely have some development left.
