I have been mewing since the start of july, and I think I have made progress. Of course you never know, you can go crazy trying to figure out if something has changed. But I thought I would share it. In both of the pictures I'm relaxed. The first pic (before pic) is me not using my nose for 21 years. On the second pic, finally naturally applying correct tongue posture, you can see a hint of a chin and a jawline. If I now open my mouth and try to look like the mouthbreather in first pic, the double chin is a lot less soft. This probably means that the fat has adjusted to my new posture. Even though these are still small changes, it's worth celebrating not looking completely flat anymore.
I have to write again that the first pic was without applying correct tongue posture. If I would, it would look much better. This is not me trying to spread false hopes. The point here is mostly how my tongue is applying correct posture naturally, and that I got a stronger chin from that. I think. Yay!
Nice results. Natural chin implant 😀
Do you mew with teeth touching?
I think the positive effect you're seeing here is that muscles in your neck are engaging when you use correct tongue posture with a closed mouth. If you feel around in the area where your neck meets your jaw, you'll feel activity there as your tongue engages with your palette. I'm thinking that this is pulling the skin tighter around your jaw?
Thanks, wardellstephencurry.
My teeth are lightly touching, Eddiemoney.
I think that's right, AlphaMinus.
Nice results!!
Your face look more "strong" nice results.
Very nice! Do you consciously try to push hard against the palate (hard mew) or let your tongue rest there with a suction hold/push swallow?
Thanks, guys!
Ayla21, the first months I let it it rest with a suction hold. But I felt a bit impatient, and started pushing hard the last month. Sometimes I only remember it 2 minutes a day. On a good day probably 10 minutes. I'm trying to get better. It's after the hard mewing I noticed changes in the skin under my chin.
I have an annoying problem though. When I was a 15 I used a palatal expander to create more room. Some years after, my wisdom teeth came. They are a lot more narrow than the teeth in front. I have no chance getting the back of my tongue in between. Any ideas on what to do? I'm sure this is restricting the growth by a lot.
I know people are against removing teeth, but could removing them be an option? Since there is no way of using the back of my tongue at this moment, and I can't afford using an expander. I also nearly puke every time I try to brush them. Any suggestions?
What is your IMV ?
Wtf t'es un khey VDD ?
Awesome results for 4 months. Mostly muscular I guess. Keep going !
Congrats on the great gains, there is noticeable improvement! I also want to ask if you lost any weight during these 4 months. Just to account for all variables.
I'm about your age, so it's useful for me to get an idea of expectations. Everytime I lose weight my jawline looks more defined, so I was wondering if this was a factor in your transformation as well.
Keep up the great work you're doing on yourself. Thanks for posting and being an inspiration for the rest of us 🙂
Thanks for the supportive comments, Bogdar and deara. :)
My weight did not change in this period. My jawline also changes with weight, it looked more defined when I was 10 kg lighter. But then I was underweight unfortunately.
Nevergiveup, is that intermolar width? It was really difficult to measure, but when I did back in July it was 40-42 mm. But if I remember correctly, thats from the teeth in front of my wisdomteeth, and they got expanded when I was 15. I did not measure in between the teeth, I included both of the teeth. I don't know what is correct, google shows many different ways to measure.
When you mew, are you able to touch you soft palate with your tongue?
