I've been mewing for some time now trying different methods, where either they worked for some time, but stopped, or didnt work at all. Then i found out i had to place my tongue on the incisive papilla, and so i began to do that. It all went well, my cheeks got flatter, my chin got better, but after some time my nose also began to move more to the left, making it asymmetrical. I found out, that the reason why it happened was because my incisive papilla wasn't centered in my face, making it push more to the left side than the right, i guess. My situation is kinda like Tom cruise's. If you look at his smile, his front teeth aren't centered, so I'm wondering where he places his tongue.
Probably rests his tongue on his lower jaw based on the fact his smile is canted and the fact he had crooked teeth.
Also, most people have canted smiles because we shift our body weight to one side. So gravity pulls our skull in one direction.
I personally mew slightly to the left of my incisive midlines because my smile is canted to the right. So this counteracts the force. My tongue tip is also lined up with my nasal tip.
I am currently trying to align my bite by my incisive midlines as opposed to by the molars. This is done with the hope of aligning my tongue more so that force is applied more to the left . I also am chewing on my left side more.
I guess i'll do the same, but just to the right side instead. It's just when i do that my buccinators are being used more for some reason.
Would facepulling be good too? I don't understand the concept yet, but i'm interested in how it works.
