I'm interested in looking into MSE but am not sure if this is an appropriate approach because from looking at photos I believe that I have asymetrical growth with more growth on the left side of my face and less so on the right and from what I have read it doesnt seem as though the MSE can be used to just develop one side of the face where there is asymmetry. In regards to facial development I have been aware of palatal expander appliances (e.g. ALF, DNA, Homeoblock) for a few years now and have recently become aware of MSE through this forum and Ronald Ead's videos on youtube. However i am aware that many people have already spent thousands of pounds and many years trying to achieve results with varying success. As such I am interested in any advice that people in this community can provide me so that I can make the most intelligent decisions possible when going down this route. i would just like to clarify that I am also interested in the improvement to health that palatal expansion gives. I think a lot of the aesthetic reasons for doing this are often overstated because of some misguided belief that these approaches will make you look like a model regardless of your genetics. Personally I just want to look like the best version of whatever potential it is that I have and be able to breath and sleep better. I have measured my intermolar width using the technique mentioned on this forum and it was 34-35mm.
Could someone who knows more about facial development take a look at my pictures and let me know whether or not I am correct about this and given my facial development what may be the most appropriate path to go down? The photos are not perfect but hopefully they give some indication of my facial development.
[NOTE] I am going to edit the pictures to make me unidentifiable and then repost them.
Photos edited to make me unidentifiable. Intermolar width is 34-35mm.
Any suggestions for suitable approaches to correcting my asymmetries/lack of growth will be appreciated.
At that IMW I'm sure you can widen it just from pushing the tongue upwards, as for the asymmetries, just try to spread the pressure evenly and have a good posture.
