Hi ,
I wonder if a recessed maxilla could press against the eustachian tube and the overall uditive a apparatus.
I definitely think so. I developed tinnitis because my jaws are recessed. My Eustachian tubes are also often blocked. Seen lots of doctors. Seems that the condyle presses against nerve endings and strains aligaments by the ear, and this causes the tinnitus. The eustachian tubes are also probably blocked because of the same strain. When I blow clear the Eustachian tubes and massage the jaw muscle (massector), the tinnitus level goes down and almost disappears. Every ENT doctor I have seen has said that a recessed jaw (and consequent muscle strain) can affect the ear.

same happened to me. i had alot of stuff going on after unfininshed braces got taken off and left me with a huge overbite. tinnitus, sinus trouble you wouldn't believe, eye pressure, stuff with my tubes. TMJ like issues
@entelechy thanks for sharing!
Hi,
yes I think everything is connected.
What do you mean with "eye pressure"? Do you suffer of migrain with visual aura too?
Me also TMJ issues, but I've never had braces, just bad posture.
The dentist that said I needed braces, wanted me to push front teeth inside and shrink my palate (!) when I was 10-12 y.o, when my problem probably Just was bad tongue posture, wrong swallowing pattern, wrong "speech posture" making my tongue pushing on the teeth instead of the palate, preventing me to grow the maxilla correctly.
So , I suppose, he wanted to adapt my teeth to the maxilla and not viceversa.
