The center of this dental xray above the central incisor apices shows screws and part of a metal plate, situated on my maxilla right below my nose. If I had a full panorex to show (which unfortunately I don't), you'd see a u-shaped plate running along the lower half of the outside of my nose with a slew of screws.
Long story short, I had a palate expansion surgery when I was 19 (I'm now 42) to expand and bring forward my upper jaw, but length-wise and transverse deficiencies still exist.
I still need to expand my maxilla/palate, and am looking into various techniques and appliances to help do so, but I don't know what to do about the plate/screws. I would consider finding a surgeon to simply remove them, but I don't know where to begin looking for one, especially because this is such an unusual request.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
