it forces my tongue to be farther back so all of my tongue is in the mid to back part of pallete when i wear it and i have to have it for a few months is that ok?
I personally wouldn't worry. The only thing I personally would be careful of it to relax and try not to apply pressure. Your jaws may be slightly disarticulated. If you push the back up, it may drop the front down... and potentially lengthen the front portion of the face... including a mild crook in the nose. That is just my own philosophy, but I'm not a doctor. Even those who develop tongue thrust habits can correct it following treatment. Do you notice any forward movement of the maxilla? Just curious. This can happen as the jaws disarticulate... the maxilla can move forward along the maxillary plane. Also, any tooth tipping you notice? Sometimes the top molars can angle out and unless the bottom molars are pushed up to be supported... they can surprisingly tilt in toward tongue more in response. Kind of a strange tooth response / dance.
yeah wtf my top molars are going out i was wondering why that is.
why do the top molars tip out?
Your bottom ones are likely tipping in in concert. Locking amd loading (as I like to describe) your molars will lessen tipping. Putting in Something on the bottom to keep the bottom ones from tipping in can help a bit. Photo of device(s)?
