I have watched few videos of the doctor but I prefer to read this forum because he makes too many mouth noises, ahh.
I was wondering, since he's the main propagator of the forward growth idea, and has been doing it for years I assume, why is his Maxilla settled so deeply in his face. Shouldn't he of all people have it forward? I can only see his worked out jaws.
Anyway, I am wondering if his progress photos of facial changes over the years of using his own method show any progress. Didn't know where to search, you guys are the experts.
Correcting my teeth to avoid pain and paying. Correcting my breathing to improve everything else. Correcting my facial asymmetry because now I think it's possible.
Good observation. Dr. Mew has been called on this on numerous occasions. If you read the comments section on his youtube videos you will often see people asking the same question. Replying to one comment, he stated something to the effect that he is not even trying to mew.
In one of his videos he commented that as his partner was going through his old pictures she told him that he improved over the years. Looking at some of his old pictures (very few available online), I don't think he changed much beyond his lower jaw moving up and forward. Basically his mouth is closed.
Overall his position on this is not really clear, but I think his face is worsening. If you see videos of him from 3-4 years and compare it to this year his face is really beat up. I think the stress of work and especially the threat of the orthodontic society has taken a toll.

I think he looks quite good with decent forward growth. Yes he does have big masseters but I think even without them, he would look OK.
What is his mew line
Mike Mew has a great maxilla. I'm sure he has fully straight teeth and a perfect bite. He doesn't look like a model because he is past his prime, balding, narrow frame and is skinny
It's not that his maxilla is bad, it's that his lower jaw is necessarily more forward in relation to the upper jaw. You could say that his mandible is in ideal position, but his maxilla is not.
When considering tongue effect vs masseter effect, don't forget: the greater of the two forces will win.

I don't believe that to be the case . He looks normal to me. Keep in mind he is British and they have large mandibles genetically .
