Hi all, hoping to get a little advice from more experienced mewers. I've been at it for about 2 days, and I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. I'm already doing much better at getting more of my tongue on the roof of the mouth, but any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm a bit concerned that it won't work right if I can't consistently keep the back 1/3 in contact with my palate.
The problem is that I find between talking, eating, I am only able to get in a few hours each day - is that enough to see any benefits?
I would love to get to the point where I am doing it automatically while I sleep, but the problem is that I am currently wearing a mouthpiece while I sleep. I recently broke a filling due to bruxism, and if it happens again I'll need a crown. Unfortunately the mouthpiece keeps my teeth apart at night, which means I can't really mew at night.
Will I still get benefits of mewing if my teeth are held apart at night? Will this effectively cancel out what I am doing during the day?
I hope that I will be able to strengthen my tongue to where I'm not grinding at night and can lose the mouthpiece, but how do I know? Anybody have any experience with this?
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Glad I found this place and hope to keep up the mewing!
I have a mouthpiece too, but I don't wear it. I tried wearing it and mewing but I decided to concentrate more on mewing. I focused more on mewing last week and my teeth started to hurt. I think that maybe it's good that you have your teeth apart all the time if you have a bruxism like me.

I'm hoping that strengthening my tongue will help to cure the bruxism, wearing a mouthpiece is no fun.
Does yours hold your teeth apart? I'm thinking about trying to find one that is thinner/smaller so I can try to mew at night, too. From what I've read that seems to be how to move things along much faster.
