Hello everyone,

This is my first post so please excuse me if anything is not ok.

Today is my second day for mewing. I didnt have an incel face however my nose is bumpy and very romanish. If i say a hook nose it wont be an exageration. Today when mewing i tried to put as much as possible of my tongue at the top of the mouth. I aplied pressure and suddenly i felt like my front part of my skull moved a bit. I heard a sound in my head. It wasnt a click nor a sound that things that break make. It was the sound of a something that moves .

I felt a little painish type of fealing behind my nose but at the same time i think i breathe better. I was a mouth breather almost all my life. At the same time i feel a slight presssure on the bones under the eyes but nothing very unpleasent.

I would be thankful ig anyone can explain this to me. Is this normal? Is this bad? Did i overdo it or this sound and fealings show a progress.

N. B. my tongue fits better now after the sound of the moving bones. I sense that my thongue no longer pokes under the chin.

Thank you in advance :)

I doubt that your bones have actually moved, but who knows.. First learn how to mew properly, ur tonuge is supposed to fit on the upper palate like a suction cup.

But when I started mewing I had a similar experience, I had a spot in the upper palate where I could squeeze in my tongue and it would get stuck in there in suspension, and if I left my tongue there for a while I could feel it getting squeezed. But one evening when I had my tongue in there for 30 min or so, and popped it out again, I had a weird sensation and this spot dissapeared, after that the spot dissapeared. I dont know what happened, but im sure that this spot dissapeared from one minute to the next. So I believe stuff like that is possible, but I didnt see any difference in my face after.

Everything you are experiencing sounds normal to me. When I first started I had similar sensations, and I thought that rapid progress was taking place. When I took pictures, I realized that the changes were much more subtle than I thought. But progress is progress, even if it is something that we feel but cannot really see in our faces. And while most people practice tongue posture to become better looking, it is not all about face. It is about our health and wellness as well.

Keep up the good work. Don't try and hurry the process along. It is a lifestyle and takes time. Keep good tongue posture, swallow correctly, and don't clinch your teeth.

Than you guys! I honnestly wasnt expecting such a fast response. I would like to ask ypu one more question - is there a case when an individual shoudn't mew. Don't get me wrong i love the idea of it and even managed to develop a habit of keeping of placing my tongue in hte correct manner. But if a normal person with normally developped face does mewing will this be beneficial for him or on the contrary - it will not enhance his looks besides from allowing him to breathe more freely.

Best wishes and good luck.

Someone who already has a well developed facial structure, probably already has decent tongue posture.  Of course there are some people who are more genetically predisposed to having an attractive face and may get away with bad tongue posture. But in the long run it is my opinion that bad tongue posture will catch up to everyone eventually.  I figure at the very least I can age more gracefully with proper tongue posture than without it. You can see how many people out there who are very attractive when they are young, and fall prey to the melting face syndrome. I think it can also help us to maintain better body posture as we get older and in doing so maintain a better walking pattern, have less pain, no arthritis etc.  I don't know, makes sense to me though. Also one of the big things you always hear about when it comes to maintaining proper tongue postures is that it prevents sleep apnea. Seems like something we should all avoid, attractive or not. The complete list of health benefits due to good tongue posture is not fully known yet in my opinion.

So in short, yes I think it is beneficial to everyone.
