Should I go on with the orthodontic treatment?

Hi, been lurking here for a while, since I think there isn't anywhere else where I could ask this question, here we go:

I started my orthodontic treatment 3 months ago to fix my misaligneed teeth in the front. I already have braces on my upper teeth, which were way worse than the lower.

Tomorrow I have an appointment in my dentist to put the lower ones. Thing is, I think they're unnecessary as IMO my lower teeth are perfectly fine, and I'm afraid those braces will affect my facial forward growth too. Is the dentist scamming me off? Are braces really needed here?

Here are the pics:

I've never had any crowding of the teeth even tho my palate was quite narrow before I started mewing. I sucked my thumb a lot when I was kid btw

I dont know your intermolar widths or what they want to do... but there is tongue scalloping on the sides of your tongue.  I would probably give them the benefit of the doubt.  That's just me.  Do what you want, though.

Is this a dentist or an orthodontist?

Sorry for not being clear enough, the treatment is meant to straighten the teeth, and it's a dentist, not an orthodontist (we call it the same thing in my language lol).

Yeah I noticed that thing with the tongue when I took the photo too, that's why I'm a bit hesitant to put the braces on the lower teeth..

I doubt they would pull the teeth in from the sides.

Also noticed the tongue scalloping. So long as the braces they put aren't used to retract/pull in the teeth, I don't think they' hurt. That said, due to how cramped your tongue is you may have airway issues that need to be addressed by a different form of treatment than the dentist is providing. Braces don't really provide the expansion and forward maxillary growth needed to fix airway issues. While there are non-surgical techniques showing a lot of promise (Moons MSE, AGGA/controlled arch, DNA/vivos, etc) most dentists would advise orthognathic surgery (jaw surgery). Knowing which to do isn't easy and requires the dentist be quite educated on airway so I wouldn't freak out with worry right now, just keep in mind that while the dentist you're seeing will give you straight teeth, you may have breathing issues that will require further treatment.

I don't have any breathing issues ,I can assure you that I sleep on my back with my mouth closed and don't have any difficulty breathing through my nose whatsoever.

Also just wanted to give you guys an update, that I didn't get to put the lower braces yet because the clinic was trying to scam me off.

Now I changed to another clinic and they put me these bands in my back teeth along with the braces, not sure what they do. They also want to put me a Palatal bar between 2 molars on the roof of my mouth in the future, will this interfer with my tongue posture at all?
