So i have read up on correct tongue posture and my understanding is that the ideal place to have the tip of the tongue is at the incisive papilla, or the small bump located right behind the two front maxillary incisors. Problem is, that when my teeth are in contact, my two mandibular front incisors effectively leave too little space for the tip of my tongue to reach that spot. This worries me as well in the case of correct swallowing, since I’m under the impression that the tip of the tongue is not supposed to be touching any of the teeth when swallowing and it seems the lack of space forces me to have some contact and resulting pressure against my mandibular incisors. I can’t seem to find anyone talking about this so was wondering if perhaps this was caused by an overbite which maybe causing my mandibles incisors to be pressed too far up when my teeth are in contact thereby blocking my tongue from reaching the incisive papilla. Any advice or ideas about this would be very much appreciated, thank you.

Don't have to go to the incisive papilla. Widen your arch first and then you can slowly make your way there. Widening your arch also will allow your mandible to come forward thus reducing your overbite
