I've been mewing for a while now and stopped wearing my retainers about 4 months ago. But recently, I've noticed my upper front teeth (especially my incisors and canines) areare tipp forwards and now they're about 3mm in front of my bottom teeth. I don't know why this is because I don't push them outwards with my tongue, I keep my lips sealed, etc. It's becoming quite noticeable and I was wondering if it's connected to palatal expansion, or just my teeth returning to their pre-orthodontics state. Can anyone explain this? Thank you.

you have overjet i have the same but i have 5mm i decide to not wear my retainers
Do you think it will get worse, or will the teeth eventually level out when the mandible swings upwards?
Depending on how you're doing it, you may be pushing your front teeth forward while simultaneously pushing your mandible back? Any changes in your nasolabial angle? If they are getting bucked teeth (tipped out), you may have to get that fixed. I'd personally stop anything that is not working for me.
Without the benefit of superimposed CBCT it's hard to tell what's happening. Is your actual chin changing or just the teeth? I'm guessing it's the head-tuck while eating and possibly lack of retainer.
These are total random guess shots in the dark. The thing is... Mewing can actually be VERY expensive. Having to redo orthodontics isn't cheap.
Thank you for the ideas! I don't really mind if they tip a bit as I'm not looking for perfection and actually they give my upper lip more support. My only concern is if they keep tipping forward and end up looking terrible, but maybe that's just me fearing an unrealistic situation because I doubt they would tip a ridiculous amount that it's really noticeable (hopefully). Aside from that, I've notice improvements in my maxilla and cheekbone positioning from mewing and for me that matters more than having 100% perfect teeth, so I'll just continue but try to suck my lips inwards to exert pressure on my front teeth to keep them in place.
The same thing happened to me. I'm not too preoccupied since the average spacing is from 2 to 3 mm and the difference isn't really noticeable when my head is in correct posture (my teeth weren't tilted forward before orthodontic treatment either, so I doubted it had to do with relapse after stopping wearing retainers on my top teeth), but I did try to do some research in case the gap kept increasing.
I found out that this person had gone through the same thing (people have made a thread here too) and others were telling him that it was normal and that it meant the mandible would go forward thanks to that. I vaguely remember a video by Mew about the process that a patient goes through with Orthotropics that said that because the upper jaw has to be the first one to be brought forward/be expanded with the palate, a temporary overjet was to be expected before the mandible was brought forward too. I don't recall it specifically talking about the teeth, though, and if it's also natural for them to tilt a little before the jaw corrects itself.
Sorry for the long text, but, does anyone know more about this?

I'd be really interested in seeing the Mew video you mentioned if you happen to remember it, let me know if you do, thanks
You could have a narrow palate. If your teeth are tipping I would stop mewing and seek the health of an intelligent professional. Mewing is a work in progress and nothing is guaranteed. Mewing becomes possible once there's proper space for the tongue in the mouth. If you don't have that, to begin with, and are an adult you should consider getting an adult palate expander.
Same thing has happened to me, I didnt worry about it, and after they tipped a few mm it stopped there.
Can you slide your mandible forward to maintain occlusion? If so this is a great sign of maxillary counterclockwise rotation.
same thing happened to me. i pushed my mandible back while mewing. it was an ugly sight. but now im fine after correcting the problem. i would intetionally push my mandible forward while mewing. and now its a t the right position. i thought i had damged myself. phew!!
