I've noticed lately that my tongue is applying asymmetrical pressure on my palette, by that I mean only the right side of my tongue is fully engaged, while the left side isn't. I say the "n" sound and swallow correctly, so I should be doing it right. Am I stuck with this or is there a solution?
[Deleted confusing stuff] A little asymetry can't hurt, it can be attractive(Tyler Posey crooked chin), but it will be easier to control tongue once, just shoot your progress to see.
I'm gonna try this: Do it on the other side till it has equal space. Till your chin is almost symetrical. Then practice it symetrically and don't let it slip back to any sides, but by then it won't be hard. So I just tried putting the tip of my tongue a bit more to the right side of my palette, and to my surprise is now doing balanced pressure which is great! The only thing that I'm concerned about is that the tip of my tongue isn't on the incisive papilla, will that have any negative effect or does it not matter?
Well if it's hard to reach it... it's hard to reach it! Good question what those who can't reach it would do. They probably start with face pulling, no idea what that does. Or they do tongue push-ups/hardmew while workout. Or while bored.
In my case I have asymetry on the incensive papilla, so it was hard to recognize(since it's hard to see in the mirror). So I have to strenghten my tongue first or get used to it or something to push the side that is lower with the tip and rotate my palate and chin to normal place. Probably bcs of old nightbraces and I had to choose between sides to don't feel numness in my tongue.
But on the other side it's really comfortable to keep it on the tip, so it sucks to push where we don't even have space and stuff at first. At first.
Only mewing at back might give nose bump, overbite(most ppl will have that aging ove time so it's not a big thing, my dad has it and he looks young so idk) and pushing only middle would just make it harder to reach the front(that I don't know why)
THIS is how you know where you have asymetry if any:
