I find it hard to breathe while mewing. When I push with the back of the tongue I can't breathe but when I push with the tip on the hard palate I can't breathe as well.
does anyone have or did anyone have this problem?
Pretty much everyone has this problem at first. When you can't breathe, stay calm, hold your breath, and then do a strong inhale as you continue to hold proper tongue posture. A tiny bit of air should pass through your airway allowing you to breathe.
yes thanks for your reply. I've seen a lot of people have this problems as well when raising their posterior third. but is it also normal to be unable to breathe when you push only the tip of your tongue on the hard palate or the front ridges?

Yeah I've never heard of that. It is possible that when you put the tip of your tongue up, some of the back of your tongue goes up too. Could be a good thing in that it is very easy for you to put your tongue on the roof of your mouth. You could also have a small oral cavity which is not necessarily a bad thing, just something you need to work on. The McKenzie chin tuck is a good exercise.
so is it possible I might have a broken maxilla or palate. or maybe it's loose. because I don't even have to push my hard palate/front ridge very hard before it closes of my airway
If you think it is that serious, I hate to give medical advice, but I doubt you have a broken maxilla or palate. Did you consider the two much lesser extreme possibilities I mentioned above?
How long have you been practicing proper tongue posture?
And if you're talking about closing off your airway when you put your tongue on the hard palate, not just the tip, I wouldn't worry about. I can feel my airway closing off some also when I do that. My whole tongue just starts to go up as I put it on the hard palate.
I don't know dude it's only the tip and it's like only lightly pressing and it closes off my whole airway.
should it hurt if I break something like that? I'm scared ):
I would suspect that breaking the maxilla or palate would hurt pretty bad. When you first start practicing proper tongue posture, strange and unusual sensations take place. I have been practicing for five or six months, and my palate is constantly changing shape and consistency. I have observed a lot of people freaking out in the beginning, because the changes just feel weird.
