Can face pulling for long enough create a dolichocephalic face?

Take something from this:

To something more like this?

Just wondering what the limits of pulling would be/how much forward growth is possible if one continues this. The second guy is said to have an "ante face"

Some people supposedly have more vertically grown maxillas than horizontal -- so I don't know how much room there would be for improvement in individual cases. Widening the dental arch should widen the maxilla too. The images above may not show up -- not sure why.

I was wondering the same thing when it comes to posture. But I think the term you are looking for is not dolichocephalic face. The second guy looks quite short in the face actually

What do you mean posture in this case?

Also, isn't it a trait of dolichocephalic faces? Very forward maxilla? The longness is a different factor other than just how much protrusion there is.

In all of these "ante faces" there is usually like a common area where the midface appears stretched more forward, regardless of cheekbone prominence.

As you say in the pics I posted the big difference comes from the chin and how far forward the lips extend -- not necessarily just cheekbones.

those pics are not a good way to judge that. Both of them have forward head posture.

That said i see what you mean. Their features are protrusive as opposed to flat. It gives the profile a positive incline and is very aesthetic.

While facepulling can yield significant projection in the maxillary/midface, we've yet to see any forwarding of the jaw.

Are you sure? Because if so it just sounds like only teeth are being moved then. Because if all that is happening is the midface coming forward (thus lips becoming more everted and teeth appearing closer to the nose) then it is most likely only teeth have moved.

At any rate these two pics show mandibular advancement

?w=1200

In both of these pics the gonial angle has been reduced thus showing a clear mobility of the mandiable and a counterclockwise rotation.

Note I am not for or against face pulling . But it seems mandibular advancement is possible .

If what you say is true and these pics are just frauds, well then I pass on Facepulling lol

Face pulling -- if the maxilla remodels -- should also make the mandible do so too. The bones are right next to each other and enough adjustment of one should slowly cause the other to adjust too (just think how the zygo process/frontal cheekbones adjust almost equally when the maxilla does because they're literally all right next to each other and kind of "move" as a group). I don't know how long this would take or how much change would be needed, but it should work in theory -- especially if you're really recessed and continue pulling enough. Looks like the idea of the ante face or dolichocephalic face would depend on maxilla size since more vertically grown won't look the same as far forward as a shorter one (because projection would look different on varying bone size/angle/etc.).

But I am no expert on bone remodeling/bone biology/whatever and I am just guessing that this is how it should work in theory.

Everyone should at least be able to have a normally forward grown face though with enough pulling/advancement, even if the length differs or such.

Dr. Mew said that hard clenching(which is similar to facepulling) can strangle arteries between the sutures. Nutrient arteries are essential for bone remodeling, so you dont want to end up with dead bone. Hard force for long periods of time is not recommended.

So Mew is against face pulling? I don't get it... or just non-soft face pulling? Isn't the mandible not locked by sutures anyways? Or is that the maxilla?
