Can expanding the upper palate forwards and sideways reverse the stunting of growth caused by extractions and headgear?
At what age did you have extractions and headgear?

Sad to say you most likely had recession in the skeletal part of the maxilla. That's the hard part to fix. Mewing theoretically can fix it over a long period, especially if you are young enough.

What do you mean by the 'skeletal' part of the maxilla. Isn't the whole maxilla 'skeletal'.

No, the part where your teeth insert into your maxilla (the sockets) is called the alveolar ridge. It's the malleable bone of the maxilla that remodels easily. It account's for most of the changes you see in adult teeth from braces.

Could you please take this survey on the consequences of extractions? It is to gain data for advocacy work for victims.
