I am going to an orthodontist to get braces for my crooked teeth. However, my top priority is to get a forward facial profile. How can my orthodontist achieve this?

Pictures of me

Problems I have:

  • recessed maxilla
  • recessed jaw
  • misaligned jaw
  • deep overbite
  • crooked teeth
  • tmj
        - jaw deviates to the right then left upon opening mouth
        - clicking of both jaw joints upon opening mouth

How old are you fam?

There os alot of different options out there but id say an Alf/DNA while mewing would be good. Especially if youre under 25. Minimally intrusive appliances that work with the body. Both to achieve space from the inside and correct the function  wouand assymetries first before any intrusive exclusively mechanic procedure. This os what id do tho,só yeah.

After that treatment, if you feel like theres still room for improvement  go for something more 'effective'. MSE/FAGGA or whatever.

Bottom line is, in order to correct certain assymetries you need to create growth on the underdeveloped areas.

And thats what you should bem looking for when you search for any orthodontist. Anything that involves extractions Will further retract your jaws.

I'm 21 right now and  I'll definitely make sure I don't get any extractions. Where do you think my underdeveloped areas are?

No idea bro im not very good evaluating anything let alone someones condition only by looking at their face.

Honestly you should aim for a professional diagnose from an orthodontist.

But if you really want our opinions here on the fórum i suggest you post a picture of your occlusion, upper and lower arches, how well you nose breathe, cervical posture etc.

maybe you could buy a myobrace to help with symetry and working the underdeveloped facial muscles that would help to put the bones into place. I'm doing that and noticed it's forcing my jaw into place. don'r know how much time it will take tho. When I wake up my jaw is in the center but then it deviates again throughout the day

To be honest I wouldn't even worry about forward facial profiles for the time being - just get the mechanics of your teeth and jaw right. That should be your #1 priority. You're lucky in that you're still a good looking guy without a forward profile. Once everything is healthy and working properly, perhaps look into something cosmetic like a sliding genioplasty?

Unless of course your problems also include breathing problems and/or sleep apnea, in which case you might be a candidate for Lefort surgery (maybe combined with a genioplasty).

This is why I don;t come on this forum anymore. Did you just seriously recommend those 2 surgeries as if they were effective and long lasting in the first place? Do you think having that much hardware will be accepted by one's body in the long run? Seriously, most of you are lost as f***. Not only is this guy only 21, but at any age you can fix a recessed jaw with just BRACES. You don't even need a fagga appliance. Abdul has said that he has brought his mandible forward with braces and Ronald Ead has stated that you can train your lower jaw to move more forward through just simple braces. Bite splints also have successfully treated class 2 after long use.. You can fix asymmetries and cants with just braces/tad's. I mean dude, lol... this forum is just not good at all. No forum is tbh. Then you ignore that mse/fm establish forward facial growth. Or how about ncr+facemask? Why do people suggest a lefort surgery when that will not do anything in the long run but cause problems?
