Hello all, I've been following this forum for about a year and the topic of posture, breathing and craniofacial dystrophy for a lot longer.
One thing that I believe is holding this whole broader community (not just the users of the great work forum) back is a substantial lack of proper documentation. I've lost count of the number of times people have tried to show their progress from mewing or otherwise with photos that are blurry, from completely different angles, or from even different head posture. Not to mention those without xrays or measurements taken. I know everyone's first response on learning about this is to panic and go "AHH WHAT DO I DO TO FIX MYSELF HELP" after some preliminary learning, but everyone's first steps should be to make a full record of where they are at right now, most people have been holding incorrect posture for a signifcant portion of their lives, it will not kill anyone if you calm down and take a bit more time to learn to do things properly before beginning correction methods.
I think Ronald Ead should be the example to look towards when documenting yourself, consistent photos from the same angles and distances of the same subject over time from front and side in clear lighting from the beginning right through to the current day. He also has excellent photos taken of his mouth too.
Post in this thread your suggestions on how to photograph or document your case and which xrays if any and which measurements should be taken. With this thread we can hopefully lay out a proper set of guidelines to solve the lack of proper documentation needed not only to assess yourself but to help all others whom you show the results and then pin them somewhere newcomers can see. This will hopefully increase the quality of the forum and community as a whole along with everyone else who is learning.
It shouldnt be hard for people to take relieable before and after photos of thier profile, but still nobody doesnt. You can easily determine if the "upswing in maxilla" is fake just by looking at thier ears and eyebrows. A possible solution for face before and afters is to take photos from a relatively similar angle and measure fwhr, you cant fake fwhr without photoshop.
I wonder if apps like this could help document changes? I've just downloaded and taken a first series of photos, and will see how it works!
