Generic palatal expansion is unlikely to restore a gap that has already closed. While the palate does expand, the lips and the bite function in a way that keep the teeth in an uniform arch. You would need braces that specifically create a new gap between the desired teeth.

As for using tongue instead of and expander, it can be done.  An expander is basically a surrogate tongue, and superior only when the spine & tongue aren't being allowed to express their natural function.

Ok dope. I think the extractions caused me to have even more and more collapse inwards since I have kind of crooked teeth still.

I'm going to see how much it costs to have it expanded by a dentist, since the top of my mouth is waaaay too small to fit my tongue. I sometimes bite my tongue when I chew even. 

A few people on /fit/ have said that they fixed it themselves with tongue posture I'll do my best in that direction if the dentist is too expensive. 

I had all my wisdom and bicuspid extracted, and I'll be seeing an Orthotropic dentist soon. I'll keep you posted soon with details in an update that could help you know what's up :)
