Or it seems to do so, I've been plagued by intense bouts of TMJ pain after mewing for lengthy periods of time.
I feel personally that I am doing it correctly, I've watched multiple videos from Dr. Mew on the subject, I know where to put my tongue tip, and my posterior tongue, I know to chin tuck as much as possible, I keep my lips closed and teeth in contact.
One thing I'm not so sure about is that a lot of my teeth are baby teeth, adult teeth never erupted in their place so if I close my mouth fully, it closes a lot more than it naturally would if I had adult teeth in their proper place, so would it constitute as clenching my jaw, causing TMJ pain to occur?
So, yeah, I'd like to know if anyone here had experience with TMJ and if mewing hurt or helped them, if it helped, did you do anything differently? Did you stop on pain days?
Cheers.
in my case it's the opposite, it seems to improve my condition.
Maybe you are pushing against the palate, idk.
Where are you feeling the symptoms - are you feeling it on only one side? I started mewing more intensely and I notice my right jaw has been sore especially waking up - not sure if it's due to my asymmetric swallowing pattern.

The last couple times it has acted up has been on the right side, which is where my jaw pops most (as soon as I open my mouth it pops out of place) but it happens on the left too, which pops when I open my mouth fully.
Mine also mainly happens upon waking up, which makes it difficult to actually GET to sleep because I'm worried about having a migraine all day, how exactly do you recognise an asymmetric swallow?

I wake up with muscle soreness/tightness on the right jaw - is that your case as well? As for the asymmetric swallow I had to really focus to realize my tongue was pushing on the right of my throat/palate as I swallowed. I also noticed my right neck muscles "pop up" during the swallow. I have yet to correct this so I am looking into myofunctional therapy

What do you mean by your right side pops out when opening the jaw? Do you hear a click? Or do you see that jaw joint protrudes a bit from the skin near the front of the ear? The latter I have on both sides and I think that's normal
