Hi I'm looking for some insight. I'm probably a rare case here but I had a genioplasty when I was 20 years old. The thing is my chin was already nice and square, but it was a little recessed from the side. My friends used to compliment me on my jaw and I would get a fair bit of attention from the opposite sex. BUT still the idiot I am was still overly self conscious so I had it vertically lower and brought forward. After the surgery my profile improved, but I feel like my front and 3 quarter profile became worse.
So fast forward a couple years and around 2014 I discovered mewing. And I noticed nice changes in my upper jaw and mandible but I feel like mewing made my chin smaller. My profile actually looked worse after mewing, but my front and 3 quarter looked better. Overall I think my face looks better but it's annoying. I've legit gone though phases of mewing and not mewing because of this issue. I look better from the side when I don't mew but I look better overall when I mew. But when I don't mew I still keep my tongue at the roof of my mouth in the n position but I don't force the back of my tongue up there.
I also asked my little brother who looks like a model where he keeps his tongue and he keeps his tongue at the roof of his mouth without pressing, that's the same for all my good-looking friends. Nobody I know slams there tongue to the roof of there mouth. And they all talk about the tip of the tongue not the back.
So what do you guys think I should do? Should I keep mewing and then get a second genioplasty? Or should I not mew. (But still keep my tongue the n position) This topic has been stressing me out so much the last 2 years of my life, and I have no one to really talk to about it.
Feel free to pm me or we can discuss this topic here.
