I noticed on the more developed side of my face my eye is significantly bigger than the other. Anyone have something similar?
bump
its the maxilla, the part where my eye is smaller has more forward growth. I had uneven tongue pressure bcs of crossbite which I fixed after I found about mewing, and in about 1 year of putting more pressure on the bad side eyes got noticeably more symmetrical.
More developed side dosen't mean better growth btw. After I find out about mewing at 15yo I noticed that I used to chew heavily on the bad side while having tongue pressure on the opposite( bcs crossbite), this casued one side of the face to be smaller(in width, jaw) but with better growth and the other side bigger but worse growth( jaw/ramus is bigger but cheek is less prominent and lower set, nose looks bigger and is a little crooked, eye looks worse)
Interesting, I noticed my eye is significantly bigger on my more developed side (which has better jawline, noticely more pronounced and wider cheeks). I also used to chew and swallow on this side more as well.
It's probably ptosis. Meaning: one eyelid is hanging a bit lower. Probable cause: a stretched levator palpebrae superioris tendon .
I have it too since almost two years, the left eyelid is 1 mm lower than the right one. Personally the only cause I can think of is removing make up too roughly and bad luck.
If I open my eyes as wide as possible, making a surprised look, the difference stays the same. This to me is an indication that the tendon on the left is weak, as I am activating the levator palpebrae superioris muscles.
The mysterious thing is though, I feel the muscles above my right eye working hard, but only minimal muscle action on the left side, . Even my eyebrow on the left barely raises when I do this (not using my forehead muscles to lift it, just the muscle around the eyes to push it up). So it seems like the eye muscles on the left are weak and can't be trained, strange. This is why no exercise to even it out works for me, because the right eye will always work harder than the left eye. (Look for 'ptosis' exercise).
It sucks, because the only solution seems to be surgery and I can't afford that. I'm experimenting a bit with eyelid tape and eyelid glue, but that only works for creating a certain fold in my experience. Other than that, it just glues excess eyelid skin together. This girl seemed to have success though, her eyes look even now: https://dayre.me/flrncx/bFGGJ34l9T
PS: for your information: the smaller looking eye is on the side where I chew the least. On this side, the corner of my lip is a bit lower, but interestingly, my eyelid seems less hooded and eyebrow seems a bit higher or equal. Do you follow? Lol.
