Orthodontics and OSA

Obviously, a retractive orthodontic treatment has been implicated in contributing to OSA in the population.  I'm not talking about that, though.

What if the tongue is supposed to actually expand our arches?  Example... like a chicken breaking out of its shell... it grows stronger.  The orthodontic treatment of braces & the like may keep our tongue weak.  And we know that weak tongues are associated with OSA.  This is a far fetched idea... but one that may be worth investigating?

That's exactly the point of proper tongue posture.
