Okay... so this is something I've had on my mind. You can break your palate (most can) as adults... and if you ask around locally, there are people out there doing just that. I'm talking about orthodontists. I don't know what they're all doing, but I do see reviews of adults talking about expansion and the gaps between front teeth. I suspect a tight saggital. Anyway, I just don't know for sure. However, the question is not the methodology... it's this: Given the choice between stretching a.k.a. undeforming a deformed palate and breaking one...what is correct? I think one key piece of information missing is how this was done? To undo something, you need to understand what transpired. If you are currently maxillary deficient, then breaking makes sense. However, it may not hurt to stretch in prep for any sutcher break. It might be a good idea to get it into good form (minus the addition of width were you'd want to expand/add). If you're not maxillary deficient, then reforming a deformed palate may make sense... except if the nasal area in CBCT is impacted.
As with all posts, these are just thoughts. Seek medical treatment opinions. :-) Don't judge yourself whether or not you're maxillary deficient! Notice, opinions is plural. You'll get a lot of different answers everywhere. Try to understand. Don't just assume. Seek consults with those who are busy and those who have different concepts.
