Not sure what kind of expander/or else would be best for this type of issue its like, maxilla is forward grown yet not upward?
It looks like you’ve been Mewing?? Your back teeth are tipped. Your teeth actually look fine, though. It’s hard to tell from this photo...but it actually looks like you maybe had braces? If you look at your palatal shape from the side...it looks like a mountain with foothills. I don’t have my sketch pad in this device. :-( But basically, instead of jetting up more from your teeth, the palate is on the inner portion of the teeth and slopes up from there...if that makes sense. Usually sad eyes are easier to fix in kids..less so in adults. The eyes are more with the associated bone around the palate in conjunction with the palate. It may not be easy to change the sad eyes...
Usually sad eyes are from a TPed palate. So... you smooth it out and down. If the palate is too flat in the middle then you get into angry eyes. But... to understand more, in honestly would be good to get a photo. But from what you are saying here, I am surprised about the eyes and perceived lack of support...
Ahh! Actually, wait..I understand. Your palate IS an upside down V shape. You have to project how your palate looks from the TOP of the palate. Your teeth are angled out which means that your roots are angled in. It’s subtle, but the palate matter a lot! Honestly, I wonder if some braces would be beneficial? If the teeth get uprighted together..then you can actually stand to lose a bit of intermolar width. The bottom portion of the palate (near your bite plane) just needs to be angled better. As you fix your splayed teeth, there should be some level of orthopedic correspondence and that’s what you want. :-)
Thanks for such a professional sum up, so i should get braces, to straighten teeth and thats it? Yes i have been mewing, and the lack of support is caused by my mongoloid genes i guess? I have huge skull, so maybe i would need a more prominent develompent overall, thanks again
There are many approaches to do things...but you want to understand what you’re trying to accomplish. For example, your right side would turn counter-clockwise when looking from the front and your left side would turn a little counter-clockwise as well. You leave the front alone. An even cheaper method could be to massage with your fingers or thumb the posterior portion (back away from nose) the palate. Kind of hold the top outer portion of the back teeth and molar teeth so they aren’t pushed out..but you just give some occasional light pressure to the palate in hopes of reshaping. So, on the inner portion you’re gently pushing the palate out and on the exterior portion you’re applying counter-resistance from the teeth. :-)
As the top teeth are tipped out, likely your mandibular rear teeth are tipped in. You’ll want to kind of tip those up. Honestly, probably the safest way to do this is to just get a Schwartz lower and kind of upright those tipped in bottom back teeth. Face pulling is tricky and Schwartz appliances can be relatively inexpensive. If you don’t coordinate with your bottom teeth, your changes won’t last.
Your palate does look like there isn’t a lot of surface area from this photo. I’d have to see the front to know for sure what’s going on... although my eye-brows change pretty easy, my bones overall are super weak. So, everyone may get different results. Some are just too firm to get any changes. It may be that you want to grow your palate surface area a little more? I believe that alternate pranayama breathing exercises do that.
In fact, while you’re doing anything to adjust here... get some decent sun (D hormone..helps with bone development & Invisalign is using vitamin D to help against root absorbtion in a recent patent - among other things)... and also do alternate breathing pranayama. I had previously posted about this to my favorite YouTube video on it.
Haha :D thanks for your time and advice appreciate it, also do you think i can buy and install Schwartz appliance on my own safely?
I would think for the bottom only - yes. Don’t do it on the top...as it just flares teeth. As the teeth on the bottom are uprighted more (still want a bit of a slant in) then as long as the bite is in synch, the top should come in a bit.
Sad eyes may eventually go away. It would be hard to tell and I’d be curious to know. Of course, I can say this, but it is valuable to get an opinion from a real doc. I’ve only been doing this (researching and studying on my own) for less than a year. :-) As such, I take no liability for outcome. The thing you’d mostly want to watch, though is the roots on the out portion of the upper teeth. If the gums lighten the the teeth may be getting too far out. Also, pain up top. I would only consider a Schwartz on the bottom, too if your bite is overlapping pretty good up top..meaning your upper teeth are more out than your lowers. And do exercise, vit D (sunlight) and pranayama and good tongue rest posture (up for you while doing any SLOW expansion on the lower.
Also, if you overexpand the lower in relation, you’ll likely get jaw pain of TMJ. For these reasons, I honestly might just recommend getting braces. Ask around...so many different prices (if you have the time for consults during the day). I like to cluster consults so I can make a decision with more info together. So... if it were me...and my top and bottom teeth were on top of each other more, I wouldn’t do Schwartz. If my lowers were badly angled in (as I suspect) and they are a little more overlapped by the top teeth, I’d do a slow Schwartz uprighting of the lower teeth while paying attention to any jaw discomfort. The top can be bigger in jaw than the bottom without too much problem. When the bottom widens a bit far in the jaws, it can and does cause problems. And the only way to fix it is to try to let it come back in naturally or widen the top, which isn’t much of an option for you.
And I’m not a doctor and may get hit by a bus. LOL
I wish that we could all go out and buy Schwartz appliances for $50-150 a piece. In the U.S. dentists hold the keys and will charge a 4-6x markup just for the appliance. Then another thousand or two just for their time. I’m not aware of any rules against making one at home...but of course the upfront investment cost is $$. However, this is where this whole mess is trending and for good reason. I may just start doing YouTube vids of how to make appliances. I’d likely use Essex plastics and a food vacuum. That’s all aligners are...you get a mold of your teeth. Move it out a bit...you get Essex plastic and heat it up. You’d need some type of non-stick barrier... but you can just vacuum seal air out.
@darkindigo I tried that alternative breathing pranayamas, they are definitely amazing breathing exercises but i dont feel any pressure on the palate, how is this going to help? In what way exactly

Typically, it can widen the upper palate. However, I'm not sure the full mechanism for this. I like to do it at night. In the morning, sometimes my bite is off (have 2 different bites). My right side bites one way and my left another, as the upper palate expands.
