I have an overjet (teeth don't touch when I bite). How should I mew? Am I mewing correctly? (pic attached)

I have an overjet due to which I cannot get all my teeth in contact.

I have read its important to keep the teeth in a light touch while mewing, to promote the mandible to adapt to the changes caused by mewing on the maxilla.

Attached is a picture of how I place my teeth when mewing.

Will mewing without having all my teeth touch cause any problems?

Teeth touching is not a requirement

I feel relieved to know that but how would my mandibular arch expand/grow?
