when I was around 14 or 15 I developed this weird habit of pursuing my lips together pretty hard, since my lips were apart at rest I forced them together
by the time I was 16 my mother informed me my nose changed and looked different, I looked in the mirror and saw the hook in the nose for the first time. That was when I really started to get insecure about my nose.
Like the idiot I was I continued the bad oral habits I was doing at the time (lips forced together , tongue toward the bottom of mouth, swallowing using cheeks) and my nose and rest of my face progressively got worse looking each year from 15-18.
luckily I stumbled across mewing a little over a year ago (when I was 18) and fixed my oral habits and been applying proper oral posture and eventually overall body posture. I have noticed subtle but real improvements to my facial structure, even my nose tip looks more upturned and that made me excited, but the dorsal hump is still there, but looking at picture from a year or 2 ago my nose definitely didn't get worse, so that proves mewing is great at prevention.
but my question is, will my dorsal hump eventually straighten out like it used to be? I doubt my case was genetics, it was the forcing lip seal which made my mentalabial fold more pronounced and retroclined my teeth downswung my maxilla which is what I believe created the longer nose with a dorsal hump
probably. just keep at it
Mine went away, but mine was very small. I thought it was cute because it reminded me of my dad's. It came about in my thirties. 6 month of Mewing I just happened to notice one day and realized it was gone.
But I'm late forties now, so your potential for change is great because you're so young.
