I am a 16 year old male. If I measured correctly my Inter Modlar Width is 35mm on the top and bottom teeth. My chin is fairly recessed. I am considering appliances. How much do they usually cost? Do I need them in my situation? I am currently wearing an Orthodontic Essix Retainer at night, I also have a wire holding my front teeth in position. Should I stop wearing the retainer and start hard mewing?

I just kind of reread this and am having some questions... you already have an Orthodontic Essix Retainer... so you already had braces?  You have a wire holding your front teeth (lower?) in position?  Compare your photos with that of @spade.  I'm starting to smell body dysmorphic disorder.  Not sure anything in my last post even applies.  For anyone who really has a recessed mandible and is a teen, read above.

I'm wondering what causes a recessed mandible? Lately it looks like mine has recessed even more, even though i'm mewing.

Thank you for your response! I had invalign treatment from 12-15. But I was very lazy and didn’t wear rubber bands so my overbite was never fixed. I don’t know how to PM on this site but if I send photos maybe that will help? I’m 16 and my family isn’t very wealthy so I don’t even know if I have an option for most of this treatment stuff. What is the cheapest procedure? I remeasured and I think my inter molar width is 33mm not 35mm
