Is it possible to get a recessed chin at 20-25 years old?
I was a mouth breather for the past 2-3 years due to chronic allergies and then I also adopted a forward head posture for the same period of time, also, I was looking down at my phone a lot.
Now, at 25, I seem to have this double chin/turkey neck. I don't know if it is body fat, or a recessed chin or extra skin from the forward head posture. Has mewing/fixing forward head posture actually fixed turkey neck/double chin.
Also, I have a hard time keeping my teeth closed and touching due to the mouth breathing. I heard this is due to weak muscles and I should chew gum, is this true?
Here are some pics.
Of course, it's possible, your face remodels all the time, your habits change it. Your face even changes during the day slightly. You're not that fat, you have bad posture and a very bad maxilla angle. Your upper maxilla is too forward. I'm not sure exactly how, but it's possible to rotate the maxilla with suction, this is what John does with kids. Just pushing is unlikely to rotate and chewing will make the angle worse as studies show associating between maxilla CW rotation and masseter size.
Thanks for your response.
So what exactly is wrong with my posture so I know to fix it. Is there a way to fix the maxilla? I don't know what you mean by "what John does with the kids".
Is there anything I can do to improve my face other than surgery? Mewing? From the front my jawline looks good.

Have you any links to either the studies (or even forum posts) regarding chewing/CW rotation?
Edit: just a thought, but perhaps these studies may not have taken into account the counteracting force of the tongue.

Mewing properly is the best you can do for now, I don't think there's anything else conclusive.
