Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum. I've found out about mewing about 2 months ago (still not doing it properly tho, but getting there), I'm 20 years old. When I was younger, I've never had my tongue on the top, and was mostly breathing with my mouth open. Here's my problem: my face is asymmetrical, and was since I can remember but! As I started to mew, I've noticed only one side of my face is getting fuller (the fuller one is wider) and it got even more asymmetrical for the irony :D, it's the effect of wrong mewing I think, but it's only a change in the muscles and maybe the skull structure? It would be pretty impossible tho, only after 2 months. And recently I saw that one side of my upper jaw is wider than other, I know you can fix this by mewing, but I have braces (crooked teeth). Do you guys think it would be alright to use an expander with the help of my orthodontist, get the right width (back of my tongue touches my wisdom teeth a little bit) and symmetry of the jaw or just keep mewing?  Because it sure needs an expansion.

I'll update my situation in this post.

Also one thing I've found interesting about nose breathing in my case. I've been into sports since 10, and had mediocre endurance while running non-stop for a long period of time, mostly mouth open while running etc. When I've started running with mouth shut and using my nose, I can easily run for 30 minutes - It was impossible a year ago.

yeah tongue posture really helps youre endurance, although i find it hard to breathe through my nose well im doing exercises like pull ups or push ups though i feel like i cant get enough oxygen. I feel like the same has happened to me too im just going to try to apply for force on the weaker side

When I do pull ups, I just try to stay with my tongue as high as possible without applying pressure. I've read in other thread to maintain the tongue on both sides, so it evens out.
