We know that infant lip ties can interfere with breastfeeding, but is there any reason to get them removed as an adult?

(Couldn't find any other posts discussing this on the forum.)

Lip tie forms a soft tissue restriction that can prevent your upper teeth/maxilla from shifting. This seemed a little counter intuitive when my dentist explained it (wouldn't the tension of a lip tie pull the maxilla up/out?) but as soon as mine was released, lo and behold my four front upper teeth started shifting outwards (I wear ALFs).
