Hey,

So i've recently had braces removed and im now readjusting to life without them again.

I had been practising correct tongue rest posture with braces but now without them it feels different. I am trying to position my tongue in the roof of my mouth and although it rests there comfortably (with lips closed, teeth together, tongue just behind front upper teeth) I notice my tongue still feels like its pushing my lower palate/ lower front 4-6 teeth out

In correct tongue rest posture, does any part of tongue touch your lower front teeth atall? I have a feeling this contact with my lower teeth may be due to my recessed lower jaw (although its not incredibly obvious, its still recessed and undefined)

Have for any opinions on this.

I think it shouldn't touch it , my tongue doesnt touch the lower part at all. But it might be due to a weak tongue that doesnt stick to your palate flat and strong, just continue training your tongue, especially the back part which is the most difficult and with time it will become used to it

I have this, too, and I have an overbite. I do think it has to do with the way my mandible rests. What I can't be certain of is that I'm actually resting at proper tongue posture. It's possible that I'm doing something wrong, but I'm following the points - tip of tongue on the spot, all of my tongue on the roof of my mouth, teeth lightly touching.

your right, i think its due to a weak tongue. When you lift the back of your tongue do you get a headache?

@openbytes, not sure if you're asking me or @skull, but I don't get headaches when I lift the posterior third. Do you?
