@sinned said it correctly in this post - /community/community/main-forum/am-i-accidentally-hypertrophying-my-buccinator-muscle/#post-24444
If we think about it scientifically, there are two things in your mouth saliva (or water for another example) and air, since saliva being heavier than air, it will stay at the floor of the mouth, to get that saliva you need to use buccinators along with your tongue, buccinators will hold saliva on the tongue and tongue will be used to move and swallow it.
No matter how many times you do tongue sweep saliva will never stay on the tongue, as soon as you start to move the tongue saliva falls back into the oral cavity.
Mew already said he didn't think anymore that buccinator hypertrophy did anything aesthetically. If you think about it, the buccinator muscle is very thin, even triple increase in thickness won't change anything significantly.

I also don’t think the buccinators affects aesthetics. However, I am surprised to hear that Mew subscribes to this notion as well. Where and when has he(which one by the way?) stated this?
