Hey i'm a new member here, i'm 15 years old and about to turn 16. I have been real lucky to learn about mewing while i'm still undergoing puberty.

I've been mewing for about 2 months now and i'm starting to notice a slight increase in the prominence of my zygos but nothing big yet.

However, i've been real careful to practice correct swallowing and i've been trying not to use the buccinator muscles in any way. I've noticed that when you are brushing your teeth, you scrub the teeth and all the usual stuff, but everyone always says you need to swish the water in your mouth and gargle and rinse out your mouth. The process of swishing your mouth heavily involves the use of the buccinator muscles, and i'm afraid of hypertrophying them. Does anyone brush their teeth this way? Or is there a more correct way of brushing your teeth.

The consensus seems to be that a few seconds swishing water or mouthwash will have an insignificant effect. Mastering correct swallowing technique without buccinator activation is vastly more important. I suspect that 20 minutes per day of swishing during oil pulling could be significant so I try to incorporate other muscles in that activity.
