I am ordering an expander appliance from Braces Shop. I've been mewing for about a year with no noticeable difference, and I still can't breathe when mewing. My goal is to increase inter-molar width so I can breathe while mewing and hopefully sleep better with more space in the sinuses. After reading through the relevant posts that I found by searching tgw, I'm still a bit confused on which appliance to order. The two I most commonly see discussed are the Active Plate and the Y-Plate. Which one would be recommended for wanting to widen the arch to increase breathing?
I'm also trying to avoid teeth tipping as much as possible since I already had braces years ago, and my teeth are still straight.
