Hey guys, my main goal is foward growth. I have a fairly wide palate and fully straight teeth without ever having braces. I have a good bite and all my wisdoms are comming in, two of them are full grown in. For some reason though I have a fairly recessed mid face, is there any technique that focuses on forward growth specificity?

What makes you think so, any hints you can share with us? You can take a measurement of your vertical growth indicator for a better idea if you have a recessed mid face.

How do I do that? The things I notice are soft cheekbones, recessed infa orbital rims and my teeth seem too far back when I smile.
Those are common signs of downward growth.
You can take the measurement by placing a measuring tape at the bottom of your top front teeth and measuring up to the front tip of your nose that is inline with the tragus of your ear. See picture for illustration:

Mine is about 41mm I’m 19 and adult male average is like 40-44. Is this a good number?

The ideal is 38mm, so 41mm is very good. That is why I was not sure you had a problem because you have a wide palate and straight teeth with wisdoms erupting with no problems.

Yeah it stumped me too, my main area of recession is around the bridge of the nose in the orbital rims and cheekbone area. Everything else is pretty well grown (jaw and mouth area) but with receded cheek bones and infra orbitals. It’s as if the lower part of the maxilla is well grown but the upper portion isn’t.
Could this be just a phenotypical feature? Do you have the same condition in other family members?

A longer face isn't bad, a long mid-face is. Also, 41 mm is really good. Most people are clocking in at 50mm
For males and females its different. I believe this was taken from Dr. Bill Hang's website - this was referenced in a video of his (cannot find now... that he was given this guidance from Dr. John Mew). Anyway, for more information, look up https://facefocused.com/articles/measure-your-facial-balance/. This does not account for large noses... so that has some leeway. Additionally, he was saying +/- 5 mm is within desired range limits. That's what I had heard in his video. Cannot find it now. I have been scouted as a model a few times and my number is 39 mm.. so right on. My face is a longer face.. more oval and so I was surprised by my measurement, frankly.
However, to answer your question I'll start a new topic, since it's basically one of the answers we've ALL been waiting for... Look for it coming up next!!!
Yes it does. These averages were taken with multiple people and even multiple races . Mew estimated that nose differences between Scandinavians and East Asians caused at max a 2mm difference which is not very significant.
Look at the noses of these two men and the distance from their incisors to the tips. Very different nose shapes and sizes but the distance is almost identical

No one in my family has this problem one I’m the only one, they all have square faces and pretty big mandibles, I do too so I think this is definitely some type of recession. I just have poor anterior cheekbone development. I it helps my infra orbitals slope inwards like \/ as opposed to being straight across as they should.
