I've recently tried mewing, but I can't get my back part of my tongue into the posterior third, and I think it's caused by a tongue tie. I cannot feel my tongue going into the posterior third when i swallow for example.

Any help is appreciated.

Literally what I'm facing right now. Can only get the tip of my tongue up to the roof!

To get the feeling of the back of the tongue touching the roof of the mouth, say the G as in gatorade, goofy, and then hold your tongue at that place. Then adjust the front part of your tongue in a position where it touches the hard palate and the tip is positioned right before the front teeth (incisors).

The correct tongue position is described in this article: Guide to Proper Tongue Posture / Mewing.

EDIT: You also gonna need to strengthen your tongue so that it's easier to hold the tongue against the palate. To achieve this do Tongue Chewing .

Standing in front of a mirror, and producing a "g" sound, I can see my back tongue going into my palate. However, the middle part of my tongue isn't flexible enough to follow-up (I can only get my tongue tip behind my teeth). It is only when i close my mouth, and attempt to produce this "G" sound, I can get my whole tongue on the palate with a lot of effort, but I cannot breathe in this position and can hold the tongue there for 4 seconds before it gives up.

Thank you, I'm getting closer to be able to mew. Any more tips and suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
