How Bad Is It If I (Unintentionally) Only Push Up/Forward on my MID, Hard Palate And Not The Soft Palate?

Hi everyone

When I swallow I usually brace my tongue against the steep upward sloping part of my palate and the top (as far back as I can) and then transfer the force from my swallow into my palate with a lot of forwards and upwards force.

So let's say I'm not getting my posterior tongue onto the soft palate like I think I am, what can happen?  Is this really bad?  Should I try to focus on swallowing with little force until I can get a consultation with an ortho?  I feel like a lot of force is wasted by trying to push laterally near the back to create tongue space.

I'm just worried because I keep hearing "the pressure on the soft palate rotates your maxilla forward" or something like that, so if I put pressure more towards the front on accident, could it have the opposite effect and actually make everything WORSE?  Like recess my maxilla or other parts?  Can it rotate the wrong way?  Lol

Thanks!
