I almost always swallow on the right side (the posterior tongue pushes up on the right side of the soft palate) and I think this is one of the reasons why the right side of my face is more developed. It takes a lot of conscious effort and repositioning of the tongue to direct a swallow to the left (turning my head to the left helps with this). Anyone have tips on achieving a more symmetrical swallow?

I had the same issue and I think this is due to one side of your palate being wider than the other. You just have to expand your inter molar width to fix this asymmetry. I recommend tongue chewing. I do not actually use gum to do it, but I simulate the same actions.
