How to fix slight prognathic jaw?

I have a prognathic jaw where my chin slightly protrudes forward in front of my brow ridges when I close my teeth. Also, I have a slight underbite with my 4 front teeth where the 4 bottom teeth is forward of the 4 top teeth. I'm very new to mewing and would appreciate some help. What method of mewing will push my chin back slightly in line with the brow ridge?

P.S my chin is in line with my brow ridge when teeth are not together. Am I worrying about nothing?

Hard to say if you're worried about nothing without photos.

By the way... Mewing really ought to be broken down into its constituant parts to understand.  I'm not a big fan of Mewing... TBH.  It's kind of a "catch all" to fix your face exactly the way you want.  That is absolutely, 100% not true.

There's an inner U and an outer U.  The process of Mewing actually advances the chin (if anything - many people do not get results).  You can see this in Dr. Mike Mew and how his father, Dr. John Mew had a long face.  So... basically, keeping your teeth together and tongue up will likely be the EXACT result you DO NOT WANT.

Pushing with the tongue up can cause "curve of spee" which costs money to fix.  If it does push up your maxilla.. who's to say that that it more beautiful?  It was truly designed for people with melting faces...  chins back... faces too long.  And then it may be helpful.  But I'd only consider if my condyles are low in their sockets, thanks... And I wouldn't do pressure, just positioning and if severe, I'd consider surgery. Try to find the root underlying cause...  Etc. etc. etc.

By the way - You're lucky you caught me on here.  Almost everyone else will tell you to keep on "Mewing" and say you're doing it wrong when it doesn't produce the results you're looking for.  Seen it time and again.

Would resting my tongue on the palate be ok? Like not actively pushing the tongue against the palate.

How long did you Mew to where you developed a curve of spee?

I hardly Mewed much at all TBH.  Maybe my face is just more responsive?  I did it kind of wrong, though.  I clenched a bit, causing slight skeletal open bite... I have adjusted to it and it's hardly noticeable.  My face is shorter... so I actually don't really like that.  I personally think posture is good... but not pressure.  Seeking clarification from Dr. Mew as many say pressure.  If I hd started with adenoid face and even if I pushed with my tongue up and got curve of spee... as long as my condyles were lower to start... I think I'd be pretty happy wirh the results.  It's a handy lever for raising the maxilla naturally and slowly... but there are some potentially unintended consequences.  Going in with eyes wide open makes more sense to me.

I am not aware of anyone who got curve of spee through proper oral resting position.  Everyone who I saw got it used pressure.  However.. the resting posture doubtfully will do much in adults.  If my face were melting looking.. I'd check my condyles and get the torture device that Dr. John Mew said helps to create a good swallow.  I'll have to find the video again.  It hurts the inside cheeks if you swallow wrong.. I'll have to find the video.  He said if you suck swallow with it it'll hurt you.  And so that's what I'd look at.  Sorry for the lack of link.... I've seen so many of their videos it'll take a while to find.

Also, I did apply pressure to the roof of my mouth and got arch widening... quite responsively.  For me... it threw off my smile (created a gap) but gave awesome cheekbones.  It also bowed my bottom teeth... which ended up driving my incisors up on the bottom and top.  That was with pressure... As for posture, I think a good oral resting position can be good... BUT!  I also think it depends on the person.  For someone who has cheekbones and wants to soften them or lose them... I would avoid it. The inner U is driven by the tongue.  The outer U is driven by the inner jaw to a degree (when maxilla is lifted up... in order to chew... you've got to raise up the teeth to meet, right?).  It also is driven by something I'll share here that is seminal...  new thought!!!!!  I must do it in a new thread, though, so it doesn't get lost or overlooked.
